AMY C. TUCKER

Ms. Tucker’s primary practice is representing school districts in special education and disability law litigation.  Her experience also includes representation of school districts in ARD meetings and mediations, preparing response to TEA Complaints and drafting Shared Service Arrangement Agreements.  She was admitted to the Texas bar in 2003.  She is admitted to practice before the U.S. Supreme Court, the Fifth Circuit Court of Appeals, and before the U.S. District Courts for the Southern, Northern, Eastern and Western Districts of Texas.

She received her preparatory education from Texas A&M University (B.S., 1993; M.Ed. with emphasis in special education, 1996); and her legal education from South Texas College of Law (J.D., 2003).  Ms. Tucker was also on the South Texas Law Review, Dean’s List and received the American Jurisprudence Award.  Ms. Tucker is a member of the Garland Walker Inn of Court and Texas Council of School Attorneys.

JOSEPH E. HOFFER

Mr. Hoffer’s practice is focused in the areas of (1) civil litigation; (2) labor and employment; (3) board governance including due process hearings and grievances, open meetings act and public information act; (4) business transactions including public procurement and contracting, False Claims Act, trademark and copyright, and interlocal and shared services arrangements; (5) student law including special education, discipline, civil rights and grievances; and (6) administrative law, including appeals of state agency action.  Mr. Hoffer is admitted to practice before all Texas Courts, and is also admitted to practice before the U.S. District Court for the Western District of Texas.

JONATHAN G. BRUSH

Mr. Brush’s practice is focused on litigation, including the representation of public and private entities in all types of labor and employment, civil rights, commercial, and construction litigation.   Mr. Brush has experience handling matters in Texas and federal court at both the trial and appellate levels.
 

Mr. Brush is admitted to practice before all Texas Courts, and is also admitted to practice before U.S. District Courts for the Southern, Eastern, Northern, and Western Districts of Texas, as well as the Fifth Circuit Court of Appeals.
 

Education and Honors

Mr. Brush received a B.F.A. in Art History in 1996 and a B.A. in History in 1998 from The University of Texas at Austin.  Mr. Brush received his Juris Doctor degree, cum laude, from Baylor University School of Law in 2004.  While in law school, Mr. Brush was an Articles Editor for the Baylor Law Review and a member of the Baylor Order of Barristers.

DIANE Y. SMITH

Ms. Smith has extensive experience in real estate sales and acquisitions, including contract preparation and negotiation, identification and resolution of due diligence issues, and complex closings.  Her position with each of Liechty & McGinnis (Dallas) and Horan & Devlin also developed her background in leasing, taxation, mechanic’s & materialmen’s liens, foreclosures and evictions.  Ms. Smith joined the Firm in 2007, following several years of private practice.  Her practice concentrates on the areas of real estate, construction, condemnation and corporate law.
 

Ms. Smith is a native Houstonian, born in 1957.  She was admitted to the Texas Bar in 1989.  Ms. Smith graduated from Texas A & M University in 1978 (B.S. Biomedical Science); and obtained her Juris Doctorate in 1988 from the University of Houston School of Law.

Mr. Courtin’s practice includes the representation of private and public sector clients in matters involving all forms of labor, employment, and civil rights matters.  Mr. Courtin is admitted to practice before all Texas Courts, and is also admitted to practice before the U.S. Court of Appeals, Fifth Circuit, and U.S. District Court, Southern District of Texas.

Before joining the firm, Mr. Courtin served as a law clerk to the Honorable Stephen Wm. Smith, United States Magistrate Judge, Southern District of Texas.  Mr. Courtin was also an associate attorney at the Debes Law Firm where he practiced employment law.

Mr. Miller received his B.A. in English and philosophy from Texas A&M University in 2001, and his J.D. from the University of Houston Law Center in 2005.  While in law school, Mr. Miller was a member of the moot court team, the Order of the Barons, and the Editorial Board of the University of Houston Law Review.

TIFFANIE CLAUSEWITZ

Ms. Clausewitz’s practice currently includes the representation of school districts and other public and private sector employers in all areas, including labor, employment and civil rights matters.  She is admitted to practice before all Texas Courts, as well U.S. District Courts in the Western District of Texas.  Ms. Clausewitz also serves as an adjunct professor of legal research and writing at St. Mary’s University School of Law.

Prior to joining Feldman, Rogers, Morris & Grover, Ms. Clausewitz served as law clerk to the Honorable Catherine M. Stone, Chief Justice of the Fourth District Court of Appeals.  Prior to attending law school, Ms. Clausewitz was the projects coordinator for a non-profit, national cancer clinical trials cooperative group.  In that capacity, she oversaw the submission of multimillion dollar grants to the National Cancer Institute, ensuring that federal guidelines were met and programs were effectively managed.

JULIE A CULPIN

Ms. Cuplin’s practice currently includes the representation of school districts and other public and private sector employers in all areas, including labor, employment, civil rights, and special education matters.  She is admitted to practice before all Texas Courts, as well as U.S. District Courts in the Western District of Texas.

During law school, Ms. Cuplin worked as an intern for the Honorable Rebecca Simmons, Justice of the Fourth District Court of Appeals and the Honorable Emilio M. Garza, for the United States Court of Appeals for the Fifth Circuit.  Prior to attending law school, Ms. Cuplin worked as an elementary teacher and reading specialist, both in Illinois and Texas.
